Frankfurt am Main is a rapidly growing, multicultural metropolis and, with around 750,000 inhabitants, the urban center of the Rhine-Main region. The dynamic development and climate change place a variety of demands on the city administration. The sustainable planning, safeguarding and management of public green spaces, the city forest and cemeteries in all their spectrums are among the tasks of the Parks Department. With its 740 employees in six specialist departments, who belong to a wide variety of professional groups, the Parks Department is an interesting and multifaceted unit. Head of Department (f/m/d) Cemetery Affairs (Magistratsoberratin:Magistratsoberrat)
Full-time, part-time
Grade A 14 BesO / EGr. 14 TVöD
Your tasks will include:
- Management and further development of the largest municipal cemetery operation in Hesse with over 200 employees in four departments and the Frankfurt am Main municipal piety
- Developing ideas for the development of Frankfurt's cemeteries and incorporating the ideas and experience of the employees you motivate into your daily work and the processes and projects you manage
- Developing the basis for decision-making for the city council and the environmental department on cemetery-specific issues with competence and expertise, such as cemetery regulations, cemetery and burial fee regulations and advising the office management and the head of department on cemetery issues
- Further development of Frankfurt's cemeteries on the basis of economic and ecological considerations as well as political guidelines
- Making decisions in particularly difficult burial and burial matters and issuing permits in exceptional and special cases
- Representing the Frankfurt Parks Department in regional and supra-regional working groups and the cemetery commission
You bring with you:
- Completed (scientific) university studies (Diploma (Univ. / FH) / Bachelor / Master)
- or qualification for the higher general administrative service or qualification for the higher general administrative service, most recently in an area of responsibility with approximately comparable responsibilities in the top office of the higher service (Oberamtsrätin:Oberamtsrat, BesGr. A 13s BesO)
- At least 3 years of proven leadership in a comparable position of responsibility
- Proven sovereign leadership personality
- Sound knowledge of business administration
- Class B driving license and fitness to drive a company vehicle
- Experience in the responsible implementation of projects and processes
- Distinct integrative thinking and acting as well as solution-oriented approach in the interests of the department and in cooperation with third parties
- Very good communication skills and a confident manner as well as a high degree of assertiveness
- High level of social, conflict and problem-solving skills, intercultural competence and gender competence
- Extensive commitment to the field of work and stress tolerance as well as the ability to adapt to the varied work process
- Willingness to undergo further professional training
