For the first time, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs is awarding the Federal Prize for Urban Greening.

The award honours exceptional commitment to urban green space, diverse usability, design quality, innovative concepts and integrative planning approaches.

Cities, municipalities, planners, citizens, initiatives and associations in Germany can now apply with their urban greening projects. The focus is on the added value of public green and open spaces for people.

The Federal Urban Greening Award is an important building block in the implementation of the White Paper on Urban Greening and is endowed with prize money totalling 100,000 euros. The deadline for submissions is 9 April 2020.
