As part of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation's "Biodiversity" program, we are currently involved in the "Urban Forest Gardens: Perennial, Multi-layered, Multifunctional" project as part of the "Forest Gardening in Kassel" project and will continue to do so in the coming years.

We are looking for the Environment and Garden Office - Department of Open Space Planning -

Employees (f/m/d) for the Urban Forest Gardens project

to the extent of half of the regular weekly working hours for a limited period until August 31, 2024 or March 31, 2027.

Your tasks

- Accompanying and moderating the project, independently, in the project team and in cooperation with stakeholders in urban society

- Contact person for as well as technical advice, guidance and coordination of the actors of the urban society

- Instructing and assisting with the horticultural implementation of the project

- Practical collaboration in the maintenance and care of the planted "forest gardens"

Your profile

- Completed further training as a master gardener in horticulture and landscaping or as a horticultural technician or completed training as a gardener with professional experience qualifying for the job or a comparable qualification from the green sector (e.g. in horticulture, vegetable growing or agriculture)

- Professional experience in the horticultural sector, especially in plant cultivation and care

- Knowledge in the areas of useful plants, plant use and propagation

- Skills in design

- Experience in the care of shrubs, green spaces and flower beds as well as knowledge of soil cultivation

- Experience in handling materials, equipment, machinery and tools

- Communication skills as well as pedagogical and didactic knowledge

- Experience in moderating and instructing

Depending on the personal requirements and the tasks assigned to you, you will receive remuneration up to pay group 9b in accordance with the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD).
