Job Description

The city of Aschaffenburg (72,000 inhabitants) is an independent city, a regional center in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region and in the Bavarian Lower Main region. Citizens can enjoy a wide range of leisure and recreational activities in the countryside. Historic green spaces run through the urban area. In times of climate change, we are working on the further development of our green heritage and for a city worth living in.



The Garden and Cemetery Office is part of the Department of Building and Urban Development. It is the point of contact for all questions relating to green spaces in the city. There are 130 employees in three departments. It looks after approx. 480 hectares of green spaces, including parks and green areas, playgrounds, outdoor areas of schools and kindergartens, sports facilities, cemeteries, green areas along roads, biotopes and compensation areas. The planning, construction, care and maintenance of these areas, burials and gardening are the responsibilities of the specialist department.

Join our team at the earliest possible date. You will be graded according to your qualifications and knowledge up to pay group 11 TVöD.



The area of responsibility includes in particular:

- Project planning in all work phases of the HOAI for new construction and renovation of outdoor facilities, playgrounds, outdoor facilities of schools and children's facilities as well as climate adaptation measures

- Performing the client function

- Participation in interdepartmental construction project groups

- Project planning in the cemetery area, updating the cemetery plans

- Preparation of funding applications



The following requirements must be met:

- Completed studies (Dipl.-Ing., B.Sc., Master) in the field of landscape architecture or landscape conservation with a focus on open space planning

- Driving license class B



We also expect:

- experienced handling of the relevant IT programs and knowledge of Auto-CAD

- sound knowledge of public procurement law



Professional experience in public construction projects as well as in the areas of planning, construction implementation and project management is desirable

The employment relationship is based on the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD). Depending on qualifications and knowledge, the position will be graded up to pay group 11 TVöD. The position is generally part-time.
