At the Office for Landscape Conservation and Green Spaces we are looking for an engineer (m/f/d) for the field of basic and landscape planning with immediate effect.
The Office for Landscape Conservation and Green Spaces deals with all planning tasks relating to urban green spaces. As part of the team, you will be involved in urban land-use planning and building permits with regard to green planning issues, where, among other things, compensatory measures are designed, new parks and green spaces are developed and green infrastructure is secured.
We protect and develop Cologne's open spaces, integrate ecological measures and update Cologne's landscape plans for this purpose.
YOUR FUTURE TASKS:

- professionally review applications for permission to fell urban trees, inform the responsible district council about planned felling and issue the felling permit
- prepare statements on preliminary building inquiries and building applications in the context of which applications for felling permits for urban trees are to be submitted
- check compliance with green stipulations from development plans in the planning permission process and formulate conditions and instructions on tree protection, securing green and open spaces, request greening plans and check their content
- advise clients and citizens in building permit procedures in which the tree protection statutes of the City of Cologne are affected
- professionally check the stipulations in development plans regarding the charging of costs, allocate areas, prepare the costs and communicate the costs to be charged
- coordinate the office's own construction measures in development plans relevant to cost collection, register budget funds, calculate the production, completion and development maintenance costs of compensatory measures
- digitize the areas for the cost survey and record the designated areas for interventions or compensation
- clarify land matters for the internal land pool with compensation measures, supervise the implementation of measures and manage the land pool, advise clients and citizens on the use of urban compensation areas, market the areas, accompany the conclusion of contracts to refinance the measures
YOUR PROFILE:
You have a degree (university of applied sciences diploma or bachelor's degree) in landscape conservation, landscape ecology, landscape planning, environmental planning or comparable
