To strengthen our team in the Office for Urban Greenery, Environment and Transport Infrastructure at the City of LE, we are looking for a

Head of Department (m/f/d) Environment

Your tasks:
- Management of the Environment Department with currently 3 employees (includes topics of nature, water and species protection, landscape conservation and technical environmental protection)
- Strategic planning and further development of concepts for biotope networks, species protection, orchards, water protection and technical environmental protection in the urban area
- Participation in urban land-use planning with regard to environmental and species protection as well as preparation and evaluation of species and nature conservation reports
- Examination of nature and environmental protection aspects in private construction projects and higher-level planning
- Conception and management of the municipal eco-account as well as planning, implementation and maintenance of compensatory measures, responsibility as lower nature conservation authority for natural monuments
- Supervision of species protection programs, implementation of water inspections
- Planning and controlling the department's budget, awarding and invoicing planning and construction services
- Incorporating and updating data in the municipal GIS

Your profile:
- Completed studies in landscape planning, landscape ecology, nature and environmental protection or agricultural biology (Bachelor's degree) or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the above-mentioned fields is an advantage
- Design and planning skills with knowledge of ecological relationships in built-up areas and the open landscape
- Independent, self-reliant and committed way of working
- Confident and friendly demeanor, negotiating skills and assertiveness
