Job Description

As a subsidiary of the town, Aufbau- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler mbH (AuEG) coordinates and implements key measures for new construction and reconstruction in the urban area following the 2021 flood disaster in the Ahr valley.

To strengthen our team, we are looking to fill the following position as soon as possible

Deputy head of the water and open space planning department (m/f/d)

to be filled. This is a permanent position with a scope of 30 to 40 hours per week.

You can expect a varied and responsible job in the context of the restoration or redesign of the Ahr and the adjacent open spaces in the urban area, where you can contribute your skills, qualifications and ideas for the benefit of the general public.

Responsibilities:
The tasks of the Water and Open Space Planning department basically comprise the development of green-blue infrastructure, in particular with the restoration of the Ahr including flood protection as well as the large green and open spaces in Bad Neuenahr- Ahrweiler. This expertise will also be used for the further development of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and other towns, particularly for flood prevention.

The following activities in particular are part of your area of activity:
- Supporting the division management in organizational, personnel, technical and strategic matters, deputizing for the division management in their absence
- Client representation and project management in work phases 1 to 9 HOAI
- Project management including cost, schedule and quality management
- Quality assurance for water/open space planning, in particular with regard to flood resilience, ecology, climate adaptation and design quality
- Cooperation and coordination with offices and authorities, in particular with regard to funding and approvals
- Collaboration on funding applications and calls for funds
- Coordination in connection with other measures and stakeholders, organization of public participation

What you bring with you:
- Completed studies in the field of landscape architecture/open space planning, civil engineering, landscape planning or equivalent qualification (diploma/master's degree)
- Experience in the planning and construction of high-quality and exemplary green-blue infrastructure or in near-natural hydraulic engineering and flood-adapted open space planning
- Experience in project management/project control, management experience desirable
- Good knowledge of current regulations, standards and legal bases
- Interest in innovative developments for flood resilience and climate impact adaptation
- Creativity for new, integrated solutions, enjoyment of design
- Structured, independent and responsible way of working
- Possession of a valid class B driving license
- Very good written and spoken German (at least C1)
