Kiel City Planning Office is looking for fresh minds
Start with us as
Landscape planner
(grading up to EG 12 TVöD or A 11 SHBesG)
and support the Open Space and Landscape Planning Department as soon as possible on a full-time or part-time basis.

What needs to be done
- Development and implementation of open space and landscape planning concepts, including project management and participation in public and official committees
- Preparation of plans and technical contributions with varying degrees of difficulty, including preparation and presentation to committees and the public
- Carrying out inventories, biotope mapping, impact and compensation balancing as well as analyses and expert reports as part of green space planning
- Participation in planning procedures such as development plans, urban development projects and building permit procedures, including statements and cost calculations
- Collaboration on methodological and procedural principles in landscape and nature conservation law
What you bring with you
- Degree. Completed technical-engineering university degree with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (Bachelor's degree or FH diploma) in
o Landscape architecture, open space planning, landscape ecology, nature conservation
o urban or regional planning
- or career qualification for the 1st entry level of career group 2, with studies in one of the above-mentioned disciplines (formerly: higher technical service).
- Persons who have successfully completed a university degree with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (Bachelor or FH diploma) in geography will also be considered:
In this case, the classification according to Vorbem. No. 2 in EG 11 TVöD.
- Experience. At least three years of relevant professional experience based on the required education and training are required. In addition, we also welcome applications from candidates who do not yet have the required professional experience based on previous education and training. In this case, you will be placed in a lower pay group. The full range of duties can be transferred as soon as the required minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience based on the required education and training has been achieved and successfully proven in the job.
- Professionalism. Basic knowledge in the use of specialist programs (CAD, GIS, ArcGIS) is required - or the willingness to acquire this knowledge at short notice

Where you work
We are a dedicated team of landscape planners in the city planning office and stand for landscape planning with a landscape plan, green planning contributions and other landscape planning concepts. We want to promote Kiel's urban nature and landscape and work in close cooperation with numerous colleagues within the administration and beyond.
Good to know
The entry requirements for tariff employees are based on the preliminary remark no. 4 of the remuneration regulations (VKA) for the TVöD.
If the personal requirements are met, a classification up to pay group 12 TVöD or a salary according to pay group A 11 SHBesG is possible.
During inspections, it may be necessary to visit places that are not always barrier-free or accessible.
The job may involve working in the evenings or at weekends (appointments with politicians and citizens, among others).
The position is divisible subject to job sharing.
