Honorary colloquium for Prof. Dr. Sommer at the Institute for Landscape Architecture of the TU Dresden

On the occasion of the 85th birthday of Prof. em. Siegfried Sommer, the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the TU Dresden is organizing a full-day honorary colloquium on August 2, 2017.

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Sommer held the professorship for plant use in landscape architecture at the Technical University (TU) Dresden from 1992 to 1998. Already as a senior assistant at the Humboldt University Berlin and since 1970 at the TU Dresden, he taught generations of students all aspects of landscape architectural plant use. As Dean of Studies for many years, he contributed significantly to the further development and profiling of the Institute of Landscape Architecture (LA) at the TU Dresden.

In addition to news from the teaching areas, it is primarily the alumni who will reflect on Siegfried Sommer's academic life and work in their contributions and from their work. Speakers are: Andrea Alter, Dr. Barbara Ditsch, Rainer Herzog, Alexander Kochan, Dr. Christina Kühnau, Jörg Michel, Roland Puppe, Till Rehwaldt, Peter Simon, Prof. Christiane Sörensen, Dr. Jörg Wacker.
