After around two years of intensive work, the draft for the update of DIN 276 was presented in May 2017.

In the responsible working committee of the German Institute for Standardization, Klaus-Dieter Aichele, landscape architect from Mainz, participated on behalf of the bdla. In addition, the amendment is intensively accompanied by the bdla-actives in the AHO and the bdla-working group economy.

To the standardization draft DIN 276 the bdla had taken position in September. Against the background of a restructuring of the cost groups and the allocation of roof, facade and interior greening to the 300 cost groups, the bdla demands, among other things, the clarification that the corresponding trades are open spaces. Accordingly, the corresponding costs would generally be chargeable in the service profile for the planning of outdoor facilities.

The positions of the bdla were represented at the objection meeting on 29.11.2017 by Jens Henningsen, bdla specialist spokesman for economics. It also became clear that the adoption and publication of a new version of DIN 276 is not to be expected soon, as there are considerable reservations about the current draft version on the part of public clients, among others. A longer discussion process is to be expected.
