The FLL General Meeting elected Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kias as the new President of the Landscape Research Society and other members of the Executive Committee on 14 March 2018 in Bonn.

The previous FLL President Dr. Karl-Heinz Kerstjens was appointed honorary president for his great services to the FLL.

With Prof. Kias, who teaches "Landscape Informatics" at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, the change towards digitalization, which is already becoming more and more apparent in the green sector, is also reflected in the FLL: "There is something coming up!", Kias emphasized in his acceptance speech.

Dieter Fuchs, Head of the Office for Urban Green in Bonn, was elected to the office of 2nd Vice President and Treasurer. He continues to represent GALK in the new Presidium. He is the successor of Prof. Ludwig Schegk, landscape architect bdla in Haimhausen, who held the position of 2nd Vice President and Treasurer since 2008 and was also representative of bdla in the FLL Presidium since 2002.

As a new bdla representative Markus Illgas was elected, co-owner of the landscape architecture office Ulenberg-Illgas in Straelen with the focus on "sports and leisure facilities". The bdla speaker for civil engineering and standards already contributes his high professional competence very successfully to several FLL committees with a focus on planning.
