This is now the 18th edition of the awards scheme recognising outstanding and forward-looking projects in landscape architecture – the submission period for the 2027 German Landscape Architecture Prize will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Through the German Landscape Architecture Competition, the bdla provides a ‘showcase’ for the high-quality planning work of German landscape architects. The competition offers a First Prize and nine honourable mentions.
In this year’s edition too, the bdla, as the organising body, will make contemporary, socially and ecologically oriented open-space and landscape planning the focus of the competition, as the profession is called upon to assume its pioneering role in the climate-just and climate-adapted creation and preservation of resilient habitats, and to demonstrate its capabilities. The competition recognises outstanding planning achievements that demonstrate aesthetically sophisticated, innovative, conceptual and participatory solutions in the spirit of climate-just landscape architecture.

- Applications are once again to be submitted online, and the deadline is 25 January 2027.
- The awards ceremony will take place in Berlin on 1 October 2027.
