Alongside the main prize, the special prize ‘Spaces of Cohesion – Urban Development that Connects’ will be awarded, which highlights particularly pressing areas for action in urban development and urban planning. Organised by the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning (DASL) and sponsored by the Wüstenrot Foundation, the prize carries a total value of €25,000.

Freelance and employed urban planners, architects and landscape architects, as well as public and private planning authorities, may apply for the prizes until 30 September 2026 (date as per postmark).

The winning projects will be announced during the gala awards ceremony on 2 July 2027 at the Academy of Arts on Pariser Platz in Berlin, following the ‘Oscar’ principle. The event will also mark the opening of the exhibition for the 2027 German Urban Development Prize, which will tour Germany as a travelling exhibition from autumn 2027 onwards.
