For the twelfth time, Callwey Verlag, together with its partners – including the bdla – is organising the ‘Gardens of the Year’ competition; the aim is to find the best private gardens in the German-speaking world designed by landscape architects and garden and landscape contractors.
The entries will be judged by an independent jury comprising:
Thomas Banzhaf, President of the BGL; Daniel Berg, winner of the 2026 Gardens of the Year award; Wolfgang Bohlsen, Editor-in-Chief of *Mein schöner Garten*; Dirk Ebben, Managing Director of Baumschule Ebben; Prof. Stephan Lenzen, President of the bdla; Konstanze Neubauer, author; Jens Spanjer, Director of the Schloss Dyck Foundation; Heike Vossen, Editor-in-Charge of *FREIRAUMGESTALTER* and *GÄRTEN*.
For the third time, the Newcomer of the Year award will be presented to young practices (founded no earlier than 2023).
The 50 best gardens will also be published in a comprehensive illustrated book by Callwey Verlag and showcased in an exhibition. The awards ceremony will take place on 25 February 2027 at Baumschule Ebben.
