The health and social benefits of urban green spaces will be the focus of discussions in Frankfurt am Main on 12 and 13 June
Under the title ‘The Value of Green Spaces – Health and Social Potential’, this year’s Federal Congress of the Green Professional Associations is taking place in Frankfurt am Main. Participants from across Germany will gather between 10 and 13 June 2026 to discuss topics relating to this year’s theme.
Urban green spaces are far more than mere design elements – they are essential for physical and mental health, as well as for social interaction in our cities. In the face of growing urban densification and increasing pressures, their importance as places for recreation, prevention and social interaction is coming increasingly into focus.
At the Federal Congress, approaches and strategies will be discussed that make targeted use of the potential of green spaces – from urban planning through the public health sector to neighbourhood development. Alongside practical solutions, the focus will also be on the requirements for a city that promotes health and social justice.
