Around 300 representatives from the green sector gathered on 26 February 2026 at the Ebben Nursery in Cuijk, the Netherlands, for the Green Summit. The event, organised by Callwey GmbH, was attended by landscape architects, garden designers and business owners, who used the occasion to exchange ideas, take part in expert panels and gain fresh inspiration for their work. The three panels focused on topics such as climate-resilient plants, insights from large-scale projects for private gardens, and collaboration within the sector.
The highlight of the day was the ‘Gardens of the Year 2026’ awards ceremony, organised by Callwey Verlag. First prize went to Daniel Berg GmbH from Weggis in Switzerland. Four commendations were awarded, including to the bdla landscape architecture firms WKM Landschaftsarchitekten, Düsseldorf, for ‘A tranquil garden with a woodland character’, and CvB Gartendesign Christiane von Burkersroda, Höhenkirchen, for ‘A garden panorama brought to life’.
The Summit concluded with inspiring discussions and study visits the following day, during which around 100 participants toured best-practice projects.
The projects and products, as well as 44 other shortlisted gardens that made it into the TOP 50, are featured in the book *Gardens of the Year 2026*, complete with full details of their concepts and plans. Also published that evening was “Landscape Architecture 2026” by Martin Prominski and Laura Puttkammer.
The bdla is a partner of the Callwey Green Summit, and bdla President Prof. Stephan Lenzen, as part of the jury, helped select the 50 most beautiful gardens of 2026 from over 140 entries.
