In 2026, the focus will be on three exciting projects for which concepts are being sought that combine environmental, social and design aspects and open up new perspectives for urban and rural open spaces:

  • Berlin: Open spaces in the face of climate change – ideas for Tilla-Durieux Park
  • Freiburg: A Landscape in Motion – A Vision for West Freiburg
  • Prague: Žižkov Freight Yard – A catalyst for sustainable neighbourhood development

The deadline for submissions for the 2026 Lenné Prize is 26 June 2026 at 6.00 pm. This prestigious international ideas competition, which has been held every two years since 1965, is aimed at students and young professionals in the fields of landscape architecture, open space planning and urban development.

The competition guidelines for the 2026 Peter Joseph Lenné Prize are now available!

The awards ceremony will take place on 9 October 2026 in Berlin.

The competition is organised by the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment (SenMVKU). Grün Berlin GmbH is managing the process as the organising body. An expert committee comprising representatives from Berlin’s universities, the Academy of Arts, the bdla and the Karl Foerster Foundation advises the administration.
