The German Building Owners’ Award has been presented for more than three decades. Its focus is on high-quality yet cost-effective housing construction that is also affordable for its users. The German Building Owners’ Award seeks out forward-looking and innovative examples from building owners that meet the diverse challenges of our time and offer transferable solutions. The award is organised by the KOOPERATION GdW-BDA-DST working group; the bdla is a partner.
The objectives include recognising the contribution made by qualified architects, landscape architects and specialist engineers to building culture and design quality, and highlighting their contribution to climate protection and climate adaptation.
All private and public clients are eligible to participate, including housing associations and co-operatives, investors, building groups, local authorities and property developers. In addition, project developers, architects and other planners involved in the project may apply in consultation with the client.
The award ceremony will take place at the end of June 2026 as part of the GdW ‘WohnZukunftstag’ at the EUREF Campus in Berlin.
