On 6 March 2026, interested specialist spokespersons from the Public Relations Working Group met online for an introduction to the bdla’s content management system, Joomla.

Jörn Hagenloch, from the Online Communications team, explained the possible online applications to those present, answered all their questions and offered the BGSt’s support. Furthermore, those present took the opportunity to exchange information with one another regarding the regional landscape architecture prize competitions organised by the regional groups/associations of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Lower Saxony, as well as Berlin/Brandenburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

The campaign ‘Health – Climate Adaptation – Landscape Architecture’ shapes the association’s public relations work both nationwide and at regional level. Seven regional groups will bring the campaign to life in 2026 through targeted initiatives and events, with financial support from the bdla federal association. To maintain this ‘momentum’, the campaign will continue into 2027, with even greater financial support from the federal association.

Recruiting young talent is an ongoing priority within the association, across all its committees. The public relations spokespersons are once again advocating, in their capacity as office holders, for the opportunities offered by Future Day on 23 April 2026 to be utilised to raise awareness of the profession amongst pupils from Year 5 onwards.

Patzer Verlag, which for many years published the association’s journal and handbook, has gone into administration after 95 years as a family-run business. Since 1 January 2026, day-to-day operations have been managed by Neue Landschaft GmbH. Against this backdrop, and in light of several previous proposals to discontinue the bdla’s printed directory (first published in 1979), the Executive Committee has decided to cease production of the bdla handbook.
