The meeting of the public relations spokespersons on 21 November 2025 began with a look at the bdla’s ‘family’ of landscape architecture awards. The presentation included the logos, printed materials in their final layout, the website design – illustrated by the example of the North German Landscape Architecture Prize, for which entries have already been invited – social media templates, and the logos for the regional groups’ prizes for emerging talent, which are still in the process of being finalised.
In light of the reforms to the bdla’s internal funding, the working methods of the working group will be partially realigned. Fundamental issues relating to public relations will continue to be addressed within the working group in close collaboration with the Executive Committee, as has been the practice; projects and campaigns will also continue to be developed and refined in future. Current issues relating to the public relations work of the Federal Association or the umbrella organisation can be addressed effectively and precisely in ad hoc working groups at federal level (see Pixi, the relaunch of bdla.de, the LA Awards and social media). Discussions amongst members will continue to take place within the working group.
The reforms mentioned relate to the subsidisation of regional group public relations work (a flat-rate sum of €19,500 depending on the size of the regional group, plus €10,000 or €30,000 on a pro rata basis for participation in a nationwide campaign) and the financial support for regional landscape architecture competitions. The campaign theme for 2026 has been announced as “Health – Climate Adaptation – Landscape Architecture”.
The specialist spokespersons reported on their largely positive experiences at the WI(L)A Festival. Following the tremendous effort of the festival week, strong networks of women have remained almost everywhere, extending beyond their own discipline: equal opportunities working groups within architectural associations, exhibitions now being shown elsewhere, websites for female planners, … – Through the WILA activities, we have succeeded in raising the profile of landscape architecture, sparking discussions and attracting the next generation of practitioners.
