Conference of BMUB and bdla on 12 and 13 May 2017 in Potsdam

The German government is currently pushing ahead with important amendments to environmental, nature conservation and planning law. At the conference "Update 2017: New Law and Current Tasks of Environmental Planning" on 12 and 13 May 2017 in Potsdam, representatives of the legal and planning sciences as well as planning practice will contribute their perspectives.

The heads of division of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) will explain the new contents and consequences of the amendment to the Urban Planning Act, the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (UVPG), the Federal Immission Control Ordinance (BImSchV), the Environmental Appeals Act (Umweltrechtsbehelfsgesetz) and the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG). Current case law on environmental requirements for projects and plans will be explained.

Specialist topics at the conference include landscape planning between environmental assessments and transformation management, specialist contribution to water law assessment, municipal climate adaptation strategies, future tasks in the city. A round table discussion will ask: "Schema F in the Anthropocene. How does a forward-looking design of the cultural landscape succeed?"
