The requirements of the Hamburg Building Code (HBauO), which have been in place since 2005, will be simplified from 01.01.2026. These include simplified building permits, the easier conversion of office buildings for residential use and the abolition of parking space requirements for commercial buildings. In addition, there is the so-called Hamburg Standard, which is intended to help reduce new construction costs in the future through simplified sound insulation, reduced wall thicknesses and the use of energy-efficient heat pumps to reduce operating costs in the long term. This online seminar explains the planned innovations in Hamburg building law and shows the options for future energy-efficient and at the same time more cost-effective construction.
