Visitors will learn interesting facts about excellent buildings and projects that have transformed existing grey infrastructure areas into valuable inner-city green and leisure spaces. They also receive impulses for alternative, future forms of living. At the same time, the exhibition provides insight into the fruitful interaction between various players in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban planning.

"Green infrastructure - from grey to green" is the title of the exhibition worth seeing in the time window from June 19 to August 6, 2019, presented by bdla Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the Urban Planning - Institute of the University of Stuttgart.
The influx into cities leads to a redensification and thus to growing pressure on inner-city open spaces: existing open spaces are eliminated by building development - remaining ones are more heavily used. In dealing with the resulting deficits, the conversion of 'grey' infrastructure facilities into green open spaces is an option.

Using selected best-practice examples of these new types of open space, the exhibition uses photos, drawings and texts to show exciting possibilities for the successful conversion and further use of transport structures into public open spaces.
Landscape architecture and the art of engineering enter into an interesting and effective combination on a large scale, offering unusual opportunities for recreation and relaxation. The examples shown enable the development of new, previously unused areas in dense urban spaces.
