Conference theme
City and landscape are undergoing serious changes. The enormous loss of biodiversity and climate change require intensive planning responses. Approaches such as the biotope network and the use of urban green spaces need to be rethought.

How can biodiversity become a stable building block for a resilient city, a resilient landscape? How can this be concretely integrated and implemented in urban development and urban planning? What contribution can the concept of biotope network planning in Baden-Württemberg make?

Municipalities as well as urban planners and landscape architects are faced with the task of developing and implementing sustainable answers for cities and their surrounding areas in order to promote healthy living conditions, preserve the biological basis and lead it into the future.

The Association of German Landscape Architects Baden-Württemberg, in cooperation with the SRL Regional Group Baden-Württemberg, will take up the current issues facing landscape architecture and urban planning and, together with experts from ministries, local authorities and planning offices, will present sustainable solutions for local authorities and planners.

The strategy of the state of Baden-Württemberg for the promotion of the biotope network will be presented. Innovative concepts for the implementation of biodiversity strategies from the cities of Freiburg and Singen will be discussed at the conference. Concepts of the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture show possibilities for the promotion of biodiversity in urban green spaces.

The conference Landscape Planning 2021 will be held as a face-to-face event, taking into account the current Corona requirements, in order to enable personal exchange among expert colleagues.
