Berlin and Germany need changes to counteract the challenges of climate change.

In July 2023, the state of Berlin published a revised version of the Berlin guidelines for assessing and balancing interventions in nature and landscape. The conference "Opportunities, challenges and readjustment: developments in impact regulation in Berlin and at federal level" will take up this new edition and present new approaches. A key aspect for the future will be how climate adaptation measures can be increasingly implemented in the direction of a climate-resilient sponge city, including through compensation measures, and how these can be assessed in the procedure for balancing intervention and compensation.

Another focus of the conference will be the discussion of the draft legislation on the so-called "Natural Areas Act". The political debate on the equality of real compensation and compensation payments will also be addressed. The current developments regarding the future design of the impact regulation will be examined from a legal, practical planning, nature conservation and official perspective and evaluated with regard to their intended acceleration effects.

Die Tagung,im Auftrag der Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Mobilität, Verkehr, Klimaschutz und Umwelt durchgeführt, findet am Dienstag, 12.12.2023, von 9.30 bis 16.15 Uhr im Deutschen Architektur Zentrum (DAZ) in Berlin statt.
