13.10.2017, Berlin. Since 1994, Berlin has had its own assessment procedure for the evaluation and balancing of interventions in the state of Berlin, the Auhagen procedure.

This procedure was adapted in the past selectively. Now a renewed revision is present. On the one hand, this includes adjustments to the current developments from the Wannsee Trench Decision. The value carriers - which form the actual core of the methodology - have been aggregated, realigned and adapted to current developments. Surcharges allow for an optimisation of the planning. Additional valuations were introduced for certain subject areas, such as nationally protected species and the maintenance of high-quality biotopes. The simplified procedure complements the Berlin methodology. Significant changes were made to the costs to be included for maintenance and development, the structure and the necessary increase in the unsealing costs approach. The Berlin Methodology will be explained on the basis of practical examples.
