Irmhild Brüggen was the guest speaker at the launch event. As an environmental scientist, she is the Sustainability Officer at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Her keynote speech, which was structured around sustainability models, the example of Leuphana University’s implementation, and the topics of mobility, biodiversity and monitoring, illustrated the various facets of sustainability processes. Speaking both as an academic and as a representative of the building client, she explained her view that sustainability processes bring with them a dynamic energy, a rich culture and great opportunities, but can also come at the cost of slowing things down.

Vortragsbeginn •

Referentin Imhild Brüggen, Leiterin des Nachhaltigkeitsbüros an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg •

Initiatoren Johannes Hügle und Geert Grigoleit •

Anschließende Gesprächsrunde mit Moderatorin Carmen Kurbjuhn vom KompetenzKontor •

Carmen Kurbjuhn from KompetenzKontor Berlin, who moderated the evening’s proceedings, led the discussion that followed. The question regarding participants’ own understanding of sustainability and the ensuing discussion highlighted just how multifaceted the topic is, and that it is more about a process than a clearly defined goal.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Brüggen and Ms Kurbjuhn for their insightful contributions to the topic and for moderating the evening, to the organisers Johannes Hügle and Geert Grigoleit, as well as to the Bruun & Möllers office, which made its premises available for the launch event. The next salon is planned for the second half of the year; further details will follow in due course – suggestions for topics within the framework of the overarching concept are expressly welcome!
