On Saturday, 28 February 2026, the executive committees of the three northern regional associations – Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – met to discuss the jointly established secretariat, which has now been in operation for almost a year.
The volunteer board members of the regional associations set aside an entire Saturday to discuss matters relating to the head office (represented by Kerstin König). As everyone involved was breaking new ground with the joint secretariat, there were more items on the agenda than could be dealt with by the evening. Nevertheless, many topics were discussed, with the focus in this first year on finances. The consensus is that this approach brings greater structure to the associations’ work and has helped to foster synergies between the three associations – round two is now underway!
