At its last meeting, the jury of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Association decided on the award for the best final thesis of 2023 at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences in the field of landscape architecture. The selection was confirmed before the general meeting of the state association.

As in previous years, the jury was delighted with the number of entries submitted for the awards and their overall excellent performance. The jury would like to thank all applicants.

For 2023, the prize was awarded to Hauke Krüger 's Bachelor's thesis. He had worked on the "Urban design of the city of Radebeul - The development of Meißner Straße as a new city center". The work was supervised by Professor Dr. Carolin Rolka and the freelance landscape architect Hannes Hamann from Rostock.

Hauke Krüger's work was based on the competition brief for Meißner Straße in Radebeul, whereby he specified the objectives in his own chosen areas of specialization and presented them both graphically and textually. His formulation of objectives includes the combination of enhancing the quality of life on Meißner Strasse with the sustainable/ecological improvement of the situation in the design area, taking into account the historical features of the location. The detailed illustrations and sections clearly reflect the main idea of the overall design.

The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern regional association will personally present Hauke Krüger with the award and a book gift at an event.
