Both the Galabau Trade Association, represented by Ms Stelter, and the bdla Regional Association thanked Professor Fröhlich for his many years of commitment to students and the ‘green’ professions. The Deputy Chairman, Michael Klisch, found the right words to say on this occasion and, in doing so, saw Prof. Fröhlich off into his well-deserved retirement.

To mark his departure, Carola Morgenstern, Michael Klisch and Enno Meier-Schaumburg, on behalf of the bdla Regional Association, presented him with an apple tree of the ‘Pommerscher Krummstiel’ variety. The tree was grown at the Hager nursery in Bartow, Vorpommern; the grafted scion comes from a ‘Pommerscher Krummstiel’ tree in Bartow that is at least 100 years old. This is a regional apple variety from Pomerania, which was formerly the predominant variety in the region and is thought to have originated on the island of Rügen before 1800.
