In times of climate change, plants are becoming increasingly important in urban planning. This applies both to large tree populations and, in particular, to the more open areas in the city (often accompanying greenery) and, of course, the design of green spaces and parks. Extensive, near-natural planting, a high level of biodiversity and optimal adaptation to water and soil conditions are becoming increasingly important against this background. In addition, there are still high demands in terms of design quality and the need for low maintenance costs, with water management in particular coming into focus.
The event will explore these conflicts, highlight solutions with best-practice examples and also present the new ZTV planting work in concrete terms. The lectures from teaching and research will highlight the current discourse.
