German Landscape Architecture Award for a project in NRW - "Rhine Boulevard Cologne

The competition for the German Landscape Architecture Award 2017 has been decided. First prize goes to the Rheinboulevard in Cologne-Deutz, designed by Planorama Landschaftsarchitektur, Berlin. This was decided by the jury in Berlin on 28 April 2017.

At their meeting in the German Architecture Centre, the eleven judges appointed by the bdla, led by jury chair Ursula Hochrein, lohrer.hochrein, Munich, sifted through the 30 nominated works, awarding the First Prize and prizes in nine categories.

The prize, which has been awarded every two years since 1993, honours exemplary projects and their authors. The subject matter is socially and ecologically oriented settlement and landscape development as well as contemporary open space planning. Outstanding planning achievements, including conceptual ones, which demonstrate aesthetically sophisticated, innovative and ecological solutions are honoured. In the current 13th year, for the first time the submission of projects and the determination of nominations took place exclusively online.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Berlin on 29 September 2017. On this occasion, the award-winning and honoured works were presented to the public.
