Elections at the FFL - Markus Illgas is new member of the presidium

On March 14, 2018, the FLL General Assembly elected a new President and further members of the Executive Committee at the Wissenschaftszentrum Bonn. The bdla nw congratulates Markus Illgas, spokesman for sports facility planning bdla nw and bdla federal spokesman for construction technology and standards.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kias is the new FLL President. He succeeds Dr. Karl-Heinz Kerstjens in office, who was appointed honorary president by the general meeting for his great services to the FLL.

Mr. Markus Illgas was elected as the new representative of the BDLA. Markus Illgas is co-owner of the landscape architecture office Ulenberg-Illgas in Straelen with the focus on "sports and leisure facilities". He already contributes his high professional competence in this field very successfully in several planning-related FLL committees.

With Prof. Kias, who teaches 'Landscape Informatics' at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, the change towards digitalisation, which is already becoming more and more apparent in the green sector, is also reflected in the FLL: "We are in for something!", Kias emphasised in his acceptance speech.

Before the election, Dr. Kerstjens presented a certificate to Heiner Baumgarten, who had already been appointed honorary member by the general meeting in 2017 but was unable to attend himself at the time. The traditional "President's Bouquet" was awarded to Prof. Dr. Dirk Dujesiefken for his great services in the RWA ZTV Tree Care and in the revision of the ZTV Tree Care 2006.

Mr. Dieter Fuchs, was elected to the office of 2nd Vice President and Treasurer. He heads the Office for Urban Greenery in Bonn and also continues to represent GALK in the new Presidium.

He takes over the new office from Prof. Ludwig Schegk, who held the position of 2nd Vice President and Treasurer since 2008 and was also representative of the BDLA in the FLL Presidium since 2002.

Mr. Markus Illgas was elected as the new representative of the BDLA. Mr. Illgas is co-owner of the landscape architecture office Ulenberg-Illgas in Straelen with the focus on "sports and leisure facilities". He already contributes his high professional competence in this field very successfully in several planning-related FLL committees.

The BdB continues to be represented by Mr. Christoph Dirksen. Mr. Dirksen already joined the FLL Presidium in 2016 as an assessor after the sudden death of Karl-Friedrich Ley for his remaining term until 2018.

As one of his first official acts the new FLL President appointed Mr. Rüdiger Dittmar as Presidential Assessor to the Presidium. Mr. Dittmar is head of the Office for Urban Green Areas and Waters of the City of Leipzig and also contributes his great technical knowledge from the perspective of cities and municipalities to several FLL committees.

Prof. Martin Thieme-Hack, Osnabrück, 1st Vice President, Prof. Dr. Yvonne-Christin Bartel, Höxter, assessor, Jürgen Eppel, Veitshöchheim, assessor, Gerald Jungjohann, Güstrow, assessor and representative of the BGL as well as Hartmut Weimann, Flein, assessor and representative of the ZVG remain in office.
