Safe playgrounds - living and learning space - seminar on 20 March for bdla members

Knowing how children play and how they use playground equipment is a prerequisite for the safe design, planning and assessment of playgrounds.

Meeting these requirements requires knowledge of the regulations to be taken into account for different areas, such as open spaces, schools, residential complexes, crèches and kindergartens.

Learning objective: Participants receive a general overview of the planning of new or modernisation of existing playgrounds, taking into account the requirements from DIN EN 1176, DIN EN 1177 and DIN 18034 to create practical and thus child-friendly play spaces, taking into account the use of sustainable materials.

Contents: 1. outlook changes in the standard DIN EN 1176 2. special requirements for individual play equipment 3. what does inclusion mean? 4. planning and implementation of inclusive playgrounds 5. equipment inspection and use of test bodies 6. practical exercises on playground equipment (please remember to wear comfortable and warm clothing)

Methodology: Lively, creatively designed lecture/discussion with development of the building blocks, examples and tips from practice, use of test bodies.
