The bdla Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland is organising a training session on Friday, 21 November 2025, to be followed by the general meeting.
Time and venue:
from 9.45 am in Geisenheim, Villa Monrepos (Rüdesheimer Str. 5), Lecture Theatre 13.
Training programme:
10.00–11.30 am: Prof. Birgelen (Chair of Plant Utilisation):
Guided tour of the campus and presentation of the new institute buildings, followed by a talk on site-appropriate greening of transport infrastructure and buildings.
11.30 am–1.00 pm: Prof. Thon (Institute for Landscape Architecture and Vegetation Technology):
Site-adapted and needs-based irrigation. Management of heavy rainfall events in urban agglomerations.
Presentation of the ‘Sandbox’ (augmented reality (AR) 3D models).

Non-members of the bdla are also very welcome.
For members, the programme continues at 2 pm with the General Meeting, following lunch in the canteen.
