On 10 and 11 November 2017, the theme will be: New things on the horizon - quo vadis architecte horticus?

This year, the Malenter Runde is reflecting on its beginnings and focusing on the exchange of experience and discussion about our profession.
Where does the planner's field of activity lie in the future? What is the impact of the further decline in skilled workers and how can this be counteracted? What developments in the profession do we need to prepare for? Is the small planning office a discontinued model? How important are networks with other professions? How can offices hold their own on the market under the future challenges?
These and many other questions will be addressed in a workshop led by Gerlinde Lahr, trainer and coach with many years of experience in working with landscape architects.

In order to break new ground right away and to use the potential of the group, analogue methods will be used first. This should enable a different kind of stocktaking and provide answers to the question: Where do we actually want to go? Further questions such as: "What has hindered or blocked us so far? Which potentials have not yet been used?" can broaden the view and lead to new strategic thoughts and decisions.

Friedhelm Terfrüchte, the longstanding owner of Davids, Terfrüchte und Partner, will give a keynote speech with a critical look back at and outlook on the profession.

On the second day, there will be an overview of current landscape architecture topics arising from the new White Paper on Urban Greening and, in view of this summer's capricious weather, we will hear about the latest research findings on flood and heat prevention in inner-city neighbourhoods.

It was a success last year. This year it should not be missing, the small sport insert in the spirit of Malente. sneakers and comfortable clothes should not be missing in the luggage.

We look forward to spending informative, inspiring and moving days with you again! This year we start on Friday at 2 pm!
