The Presidium meeting on 17 April 2018 focused on the preparation of the bdla annual conference/advisory board meeting on 20 April in Würzburg.

The Presidium discussed the individual agenda items and formed an opinion on the motions.

The relaunch of www.bdla.de was discussed again. After the structure of the new website had been largely clarified in consultation with the project working group, the commissioned agency presented the first design drafts. Overall, the new website will be structured and designed much more clearly than before. The main menu focuses on the three essential points "Landscape Architecture", "News" and "bdla".

Positively approved by the advisory board at its meeting on 20 April 2018, the implementation of the relaunch will now be initiated. In order to exploit synergy effects, it is planned, among other things, to use the contents of the association magazine more than before for online communication. Proven elements such as the job exchange will be retained.

After the bdla has been working together very successfully with the BGL, Bundesverband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau, and the BdB, Bund deutscher Baumschulen, for a long time, and has, among other things, carried out several parliamentary evenings together and formulated positions for the last Bundestag elections, the "Initiative Grün - Für Stadt und Land" is to be launched. A further partner is the ZVG, Zentralverband Gartenbau (Central Horticultural Association). The aim of this informal cooperation is lobbying for the representation of common interests.

The bdla generally relies on topic-related alliances; thus, in the associations' discussion on topics of fee, planning and architects' law, solidarity is sought with associations and chambers of architects and engineers. Another partner is the German Nature Conservation Ring. Currently, the presidium decided to co-sign the position paper "Requirements for an action programme for insect protection" of the DNR.
