At the meeting on 21 October 2025, key issues relating to the association’s development and political positioning were on the Executive Committee’s agenda.
Prof. Stephan Lenzen reported on the discussions with the chairs of the regional groups. The focus of these discussions was on the thematic direction of the bdla’s public relations work for 2026. It was unanimously agreed that the theme ‘Landscape Architecture – Health – Climate Adaptation’ would be adopted as the joint overarching theme. The aim is to raise the profile of landscape architecture’s contributions in the context of societal challenges.
On the political front, the Federal Secretariat provided an update on the planned amendment to the HOAI. Whilst there is currently insufficient willingness within the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs to initiate the process in the short term, a stakeholder dialogue has been announced for the end of 2025. The bdla is contributing to this in close coordination with the AHO and BAK in order to raise key aspects of outdoor spaces and landscape planning at a working level at an early stage. Furthermore, the bdla’s positions regarding a second amendment to the BauGB following the ‘Bau-Turbo’ were discussed.
At the same time, new communication tools for recruiting young talent and explaining career profiles were presented. The materials have been prepared in such a way that regional groups and member practices can easily access them and use them in their own public relations work.
