16th bdla Business Forum and Young Landscape Architects’ Workshop on 26 and 27 February 2026 in Munich
In February next year, the bdla Business Forum and the Young Landscape Architects’ Workshop, taking place the day before, will focus on the challenges and future issues facing planning practices – in one instance from the perspective of young landscape architects, and in the other with a view to the operating conditions for established practices.
26 February 2026: Young Landscape Architects’ Workshop
We will explore different scales and perspectives regarding the growth of practices. Where are the limits to growth, what is reasonable, and how do we remain flexible? What will remain “later on” as the core of a growing and established practice? How do we deal with periods of stagnation? How do we downsize? Presentations are expected from Prof. Laura Vahl (Berlin University of Applied Sciences, KOKOMO Landscape and Urban Space GmbH), Michael Wenzel (NUWELA Office for Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture), David Theidel (GREENBOX Landscape Architects Partnership mbB) and Katja Erke (Landschaftsmanufaktur).
27 February 2026: bdla Economic Forum
The forum will address practical approaches to adequate remuneration, current developments in public procurement law and new ways of organising working hours. Speakers include Mirjam Mohrlüder (Bierbaum.Aichele.landscape architects), Dieter Pfrommer (Pfrommer + Roeder Independent Landscape Architects), Dr Sebastian Schattenfroh (specialist solicitor in construction and architectural law, Gaßner, Groth, Siederer & Coll. Partnership of Lawyers, legal adviser to the bdla), Margit Friedrich (Bavarian Chamber of Architects), Doris Grabner (grabner huber lipp landscape architects and town planners partnership mbb), Dr Martin Jansen (specialist solicitor in public procurement law, partner, Kapellmann und Partner Rechtsanwälte mbB), and Dr Sandra Schuster (author, TUM.wood, Technical University of Munich).
In addition to the presentations, collegial exchange plays a central role. The forum is aimed at all those with a business mindset working in planning offices and public authorities.
