BAK survey on effects of the pandemic: situation slightly improved

On behalf of the Federal Chamber of Architects and the Federal Chamber of Engineers, a second online survey on the effects of the Corona pandemic in planning offices was conducted in June 2020. The evaluation for the entirety of architects shows that the crisis is currently hitting the profession less hard than feared in April. The state support measures are stabilising the offices. Nevertheless, there is no reason for architects of all disciplines to sound the all-clear, as 49 percent of the planners surveyed expect a decline in orders over the next 12 months.

Statement on the draft law on the mobilisation of building land

Reduction of VAT on planning projects

On June 12, 2020, the federal government decided on a temporary reduction of the value-added tax. For example, from July to December 2020, the VAT rate is to be reduced from 19 to 16 percent, or from 7 to 5 percent. This will have a significant impact on the determination of tax rates for planning projects.
