The 47th Osnabrück Contact Study Days 2018 of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences on 9 and 10 November 2018 are this year dedicated to the topic of landscape architecture digital.

The focus will be on reports from office practice alongside the presentation of technological innovations. On the second day of the event, the topics of BIM, 3D printing and the use of drones will be discussed in greater depth in workshops.

Digitalisation is advancing with great momentum - with a wide range of effects on planning and construction processes in landscape architecture, right through to green space management.

The term smart cities has become popular as a vision of urban development supported by information and communication technologies. The method of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the driver for digitalization in construction and poses new challenges for landscape architecture.

Do BIM tools replace classical CAD tools and how can the integration of BIM and GIS be done? Will tendering and cost planning be 5D in the future? How can 'free data' as well as data resulting from aerial surveys with so-called drones be used meaningfully? What potential do 3D printing, virtual reality and eye tracking offer?

The aim of the event is to classify these promising digital technologies from the perspective of landscape architecture. Thus, reports from office practice will form a focal point alongside the technological innovations. Company contact fair, poster show and installations round the program of the 1. meeting day off and offer a platform for discussions
and technical exchange.

Integrated into the meeting is on Friday of 12.00-14.00 a firm contact fair. The bdla regional associations of Lower Saxony Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia are represented with their own stand at the so-called company fair on 9.11.2018. The stand is supervised by the junior spokesman of bdla nw Marcel Wiegard, landscape architect bdla, Cologne.

On the 2nd day of the event, the topics of BIM, 3D printing and the use of drones will be discussed in greater depth in workshops.
