"Desire for green" at the time of architecture

Anzeige Text im Grid: Nein

To kick off the architecture season, the bdla Lower Saxony Bremen is once again participating with an event under the motto "Lust auf Grün". This format is intended to make the topic of "green infrastructure" visible. Green infrastructure is multi-faceted and stands for planning, securing, developing and managing the entirety of urban green and open spaces and the surrounding landscape.

In 2018, successful examples were shown at a Weser tour, and in 2019 a bike tour took place in Braunschweig on the former Ringgleis. This year we want to paddle in Hanover.

Green (land) and blue (water) nature and open spaces are the basic elements of a network that assumes diverse ecological and social functions in a city. In Hannover, the Leine and Ihme rivers offer the opportunity for attractive recreation, important experiences of nature and strategies for adapting to climate change right on the doorstep in the middle of the city. Best-practice examples such as the Linden-Süd district park, the Ihmepark or the redesigned Hohe Ufer will be explained by expert guides, usually the respective planners, on an approx. 10 km long round trip in a canoe. The tour starts at the sports centre at the Maschsee, continues along or on the Ihme and behind the Fährmannsinsel along the Leine through the Calenberger Neustadt, past the Hohe Ufer and the New Town Hall back to the starting point.

Start Thursday, 17.06.2021, 2 p.m. - Duration approx. 4 hours
