The Thuringia regional group of the Association of German Landscape Architects (bdla), the German Society for Garden Art and Landscape Culture (DGGL) and the Hesse-Thuringia Garden, Landscape and Sports Ground Construction Association (FGL) jointly organized this traditional event.

The opening speeches by association representatives Sören Gau, Chairman of the bdla Thuringia, Thomas Bleicher, Chairman of the DGGL Thuringia, and Udo Lindenlaub, Regional President Thuringia of the FGL, emphasized the importance of a joint commitment to the sustainable design of gardens, landscapes and public spaces in Thuringia. Guest speaker Prof. Dr. Schweizer, President of the German Society for Garden and Landscape Culture (DGGL), gave an inspiring talk on the connection between man and nature, and emphasized the important role of landscape architecture and garden art in a changing world.

The speeches also contained clear calls for politicians to take measures to support climate adaptation strategies. With a wink, it was noted that after long nights of deliberation, politicians might do well to walk barefoot through the morning dew in the parliamentary garden to sort out their thoughts. The representatives of the green professional associations emphasized their daily confrontation with the challenges of climate change and their responsibility to develop innovative solutions for climate adaptation.

The musical accompaniment of the evening by the duo "Fojorina" from Jena created a relaxed atmosphere and accompanied the guests throughout the evening. The New Year's reception provided a platform for stimulating discussions about the future of landscape architecture, garden design and landscaping in Thuringia as well as an opportunity for socializing.

Special thanks are due to the generous sponsors. The companies Rinn Beton- und Naturstein GmbH undamp; Co KG, Baumschule Lorberg, Leipziger Leuchten, Gefa Produkte Fabritz GmbH and Richter Spielgeräte GmbH / freiraum4life made a significant contribution to making this event a complete success with their commitment. Their support made it possible to promote the vision of a sustainable design of gardens, landscapes and public spaces in Thuringia.
