One of the highlights of the annual programme, every year in the months of May and June, are the open gardens.

Private garden owners open their doors on one day and show how diverse the Thuringian garden landscape is. Together with the German Society for Garden Art and Landscape Culture e.V. (DGGL), the Open Gardens have been taking place since 2001.
