The seminar is aimed at architects and junior members as well as graduates who deal with the planning of site drainage, in particular landscape architects.

Objective
In the seminar, participants will learn the methodology of flood verifications as a rule and in special cases, such as infiltration systems, in underbuilt areas and in courtyards. They will then be able to carry out simple flood verifications.

Content
The progression of climate change - and the associated increase in extreme weather events - is creating new challenges. It is necessary to adapt private and public drainage and water systems. This includes "proof of safety against flooding or controlled, damage-free flooding" in the area of planning services.

The submission of this planning service is required by approval authorities and municipal drainage companies. There are no regulations regarding the responsibility for the proof of flooding. However, retention areas, such as swales or sloping paved surfaces, must of course not only be calculated, but also planned and designed. This is why landscape architects, in conjunction with building planning and technical building services, are the first point of contact for flood verification.
