On 26 January 2026, the bdla Bayern announced the 4th Bavarian Landscape Architecture Prize. The organising partners are the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and the Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Ground Construction in Bavaria; the media partner is *Garten + Landschaft* (Georg Media).
The deadline for submissions is 6 April 2026.
The
patron for 2026 is Reiner Nagel, an architect, urban planner and Chairman of the Board of the Federal Foundation for Building Culture.
The Bavarian Landscape Architecture Prize is an honorary award that has been presented every two years since 2020. With this prize, the bdla Bavaria, on behalf of the landscape architecture profession, honours outstanding projects and plans in Bavaria. These are characterised by innovative, sustainable and climate-friendly outdoor and landscape spaces of high quality – both in new developments and in existing sites. The bdla Bavaria also expressly invites the younger generation of planners to enter the competition in order to foster their professional ideals and visions.
In addition to the main prize, awards are presented in seven categories: Landscape Planning and Development / Use of Plants and Biodiversity / Public Parks and Green Spaces / Squares and Streets in Public Spaces / Open Spaces for People in Residential, Learning and Working Environments / Experimental Landscape Architecture and Construction in Detail / Graduation Projects – Projects 20 years old or older.
