On the evening of 4 September 2026, the Federation of German Landscape Architects – comprising the regional associations of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Bremen, and Schleswig-Holstein, awarded the First Prize, the six honourable mentions and the People’s Choice Award in the competition for the 1st North German Landscape Architecture Prize 2026.
The gala awards ceremony took place in Hall 424 at Hamburg’s Oberhafen, attended by around 170 guests. Anke Rösler hosted the evening, beginning by welcoming the guests and the board members of the regional associations. Before the awards were announced, the patron, Mr Franz-Josef Höing, Chief Building Director, addressed those present. The evening was
then rounded off perfectly by the culinary highlights from Hobenköök and the atmospheric live music provided by the Nis Jesse Trio.

Congratulations to all the winners!
The 1st North German Landscape Architecture Prize 2026 was awarded to the landscape planning project
“Ruschsand – A river island through the ages”, Berne, by Planungsgruppe Grün GmbH from Bremen.
The Publication Prize went to the project
‘Transformation – from a lignite mining area to a green energy landscape’, Helmstedt, by Glück Landschaftsarchitektur GmbH in collaboration with Labor für urbane Orte und Prozesse; Stuttgart.
