On 2 June 2026, our Young Professionals Forum took place at the State Garden Show in Bad Nenndorf. The event provided students and experts with a platform for networking, knowledge transfer and professional exchange.
Marie Kolsch (University of Hanover), whose Master’s thesis “Open Space Planning to Combat Physical Inactivity? How Cities Get People Moving – Using the Example of Hanover-Vahrenwald” received a special commendation at the Study UP Award 2025, and Robert Schröter (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences), winner of the award for his Bachelor’s thesis ‘Landscape in Transition: Shaping the Hanover–Kronsberg Periphery’, presented their work.
The event continued with the presentation of the designs for the State Garden Show’s young talent competition and the honouring of the prize-winners. With her design: ‘Energy in Transition – Fire as Origin and Vision’, Hanna Kaiser from the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences won the Bdla Young Talents Competition for the 2026 Bad Nenndorf State Garden Show ‘Traces of the Past – Sources of the Future’ in May 2025. Second prize went to the group project “Storage Space” by Ms Antonia Brinkmann and Daphne te Haar from Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. Third prize was awarded to the group project “Perennial Gardens in Times of Drought Stress” by Annika Marie Gille, Pauline-Charlotte Günther and Laurens Oehler from the University of Hanover.
After a group lunch at the Grandhotel Esplanade, there was an interesting guided tour of the State Garden Show exhibition grounds, from the Kurpark to the Wiesenpark.
To round off the event, Hanna Kaiser presented her winning design, ‘Energy in Transition – Fire as Origin and Vision’, in our bdla show garden.
