There have therefore been some changes to the board of the bdla nw regional group since the general meeting in October. Andreas Hermanns stepped down from the board of the regional group after 4 years of voluntary work. Isabella de Medici is the new second chairwoman of the Rhineland.

Good discussions on the Rhine: At the parliamentary evening of the Verband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau NRW e. V. (VGL NRW) and the Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten NRW (bdla nw) on July 3 on board the MS Riverstar in Düsseldorf, members of both associations exchanged views on current political issues with members of the NRW state parliament. Josef Mennigmann, President of VGL NRW, opened the evening together with bdla nw Chairman Thomas Dietrich and also welcomed the President of the NRW State Parliament André Kuper and Silke Gorißen, NRW Minister for Agriculture and Consumer Protection, among the guests.

"What's possible? - Urban open spaces and mobility" - this question is the title of the "Landscape Architecture Day 2024" of the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia on July 4 in Wuppertal. After all, one of the major urban planning challenges is the "mobility turnaround", which has long been a goal but has only been implemented to a limited extent.

The Association of German Landscape Architects NRW is awarding prizes to seven projects and a joint special prize for five projects!
The exhibition can be viewed at the Baukunstarchiv from October 30 to mid-November.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the award ceremony for the nrw.landschaftsarchitektur.preis 2024 took place in the Erich Brost Pavilion at Zeche Zollverein in Essen. Around 200 guests accepted the invitation from the Association of German Landscape Architects NRW (bdla nw) and celebrated the award winners. They also examined the new award brochure and took the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues. The jury, chaired by Prof. Katja Benfer, unanimously selected seven entries from 29 submissions that address future topics and create innovative, impressive and sustainable landscape experiences. At its meeting on September 23, 2022, the Neuss City Council decided to launch an open, single-stage open-space planning ideas and implementation competition for Bürgerpark Neuss. In the competition, landscape architects throughout Europe are called upon to submit individual designs and creative ideas for the State Garden Show 2026. The aim is to obtain a wide range of proposed solutions. The basis is a detailed description of the conditions and the goals for the project; ideas from citizens have also been incorporated into the competition process.
